Who We Are
Our History
In 1934, Buffalo Movie-Video Makers started out as the Amateur Cinema Club of Buffalo. The group consisted of mostly school teachers who had a love and a growing interest in cinematography.
At one point having over 100 members, we made it through the waning years of amateur film and brought on video in 1987, changing our name from the Buffalo Cinema Club to Buffalo Movie-Video Makers.
We now have a resurgence of popularity, bridging the generations from high school students to octogenarians. Everyone is excited to see computers creating new works and helping to restore the classics.
By the way, we meet at the Screening Room Cinema and Cafe in Amherst. Just ignore that sign to the right.
